We spent yesterday at Fort Harrod in Harrodsburg, KY.
The fort is about 25 miles southwest of Lexington, KY. about a 3 hour drive for us.
We watched the Reenactment of the 1774 battle.
The boys climbed on Osage tree its huge.
Watched demonstrations about flint rock guns, textiles, Indian culture and saw lots of stuff from the era.
Fort at the outside corner.

Inside one of the cabins.
This guy is explaining how the flint rock rifle worked.
Inside Fort Harrod men dressed in period clothing before the battle.
Tents the settlers used during this time.
Settlers from the Fort portraying the two boys that were target shooting before the Indians attacked. The battle lasted 4 hours. One was killed and the other waited behind a tree until he was pulled under the fort to safety hours later.
This is one of the Indians I especially like this picture. He explained about the Indian culture.
Also, at the Fort Harrod was a musuem with lots of interesting artifacts, plus the church where Abe Lincolns parents where married and the one room cabin they lived in after their marriage.
